“Something’s got me weird” is one of the phrases heard on the newest album from RM 13, and it fits the tenor for the slow apocalypse we currently find ourselves in.
Crooked Palm absorbs the catastrophes it has borne witness to while reflecting them back like broken glass, in a glittering horror film mystery. The psychedelic soundtrack becomes a dark, disney acid trip filled with missing teeth, guitars that sound like crying dogs, cryptic messages & answering machine solos.
The album was recorded in a 1970s single wide beach trailer in the small coastal town of Shell Point, FL, shortly before it was destroyed by Hurricane Michael.
RM 13 is a collaboration made up of audio/visual artists Courtney Asztalos, Abigail Clark & Danny Clifton. Crooked Palm was mixed at Pulp Arts in central FL and mastered by JJ Golden in CA.
